The Board of Nursing of Maryland requires CPR certification with practical skills component that adheres to the Healthcare Provider level training standards. It requires ACLS or PALS certifications based on patient requirements.
Board Statement:
The Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for all registered nurses. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required for RNs working in the ICU or with adults. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required for RNs working with pediatric patients.
A copy of a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association for licensure as direct entry midwife.
