Get nationally recognized cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for nursing assistants in Florida valid for 2 years. Nursing assistants in Florida must learn BLS and CPR courses for nurses at the healthcare provider level. CPR training for nursing assistants in Florida includes lessons on the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and various CPR techniques. Employers in Florida may also provide guidance on which CPR certification type or training provider best meets their workplace requirements.
Summary of Board Requirement:
The Board of Nursing of Florida requires CPR certification with a practical skills component that adheres to the Healthcare Provider level training standards. It requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications based on patient requirements.
Board Statement:
The BLS certification is required for all registered nurses. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required for registered nurses (RNs) working in the ICU or with adults. PALS is required for RNs working with pediatric patients.

The CPR/AED, First Aid course was full of helpful information and easy to follow. The videos helped with visual instruction. The ability to take this online and not have to be in a class for a whole day was beneficial to me.
It was an amazing experience so easy and fast with in an hr more or less I was certified it explained everything with so much detail great program I don’t believe why ppl don’t get certified you could learn so much and save some ones life 10/10 would recommend!

On duty you’re expected to follow facility policy; off duty there’s usually no legal duty, and Florida’s Good Samaritan Act protects good-faith aid.
Follow the AHA’s 2025 update—push hard/fast with minimal pauses, use an AED early, and apply the new choking steps (5 back blows + 5 thrusts for conscious patients).
Online is fastest and convenient, but if your employer requires a hands-on skills check (common for BLS), choose blended/in-person—follow your unit’s policy.
